It comes in a syringe-style applicator, and the crew places it in tiny dots, about the size of a grain of rice, in the places cockroaches feed and travel.
Because the bait acts slowly, a cockroach that eats it has time to go back to its hiding spot before it dies. Other cockroaches then feed on the droppings and remains, which spreads the bait through the group. That means it reaches cockroaches deep in walls and appliance motors that a spray would never touch. The dots are small and tucked out of the way, so most people hardly notice them after the visit.
